The first hatchling born in a reunited Clan Clarion, Fret was born in a time of contrast. Peace and harmony abound in the lair, but still an atmosphere of anxiety clouds it. The Long Winter has made them nervous, and the clan cannot afford to feed many more mouths. While his parents are both loving, his father more so than his mother, Fret cannot help but feel unwanted. There are too few resources for him to be afforded much.

Both despite and because of his hardships, Fret has grown strong and stoic, loathe to reveal his wants and needs. However, he doesn't begrudge other dragons their own needs; he likes to work hard and protect his clanmates. He works as the night guard for the lair, sleeping during the day. While it isn't always easy (some more stubborn clan members dislike being asked what they're doing out at night), he finds it rewarding, and knows that when he has a hard day, his mother can always sympathise.
