____Imperials are said to be secretive where their dead are concerned, and Adrenurket is no exception. Indeed, some even refer to him as The Deadwyrm; whispering that he is an undead being, resurrected for some unknown purpose.
____Eerily, Adrenurket has never denied these rumors, preferring to smile menacingly and roll his eyes so far back that only the sclera shows when anyone dares to ask him of his current -or prior- state. ____Of all the Ringmasters, he is the most aloof. Where the others may move about on the ground or in the skies, the massive Imperial soars at such a height that he is not readily visible from below. When he does descend, it is often at night, and often with such speed that the resulting sonic booms ring like the tolling of a church bell. |
____Adrenurket is accompanied by the scent of brimstone and tar wherever he goes, and occasionally the companion odor manifests itself as a bat-shaped spirit of shadow. The immense dragon seems to command the creature silently, and it relays any information it gathers to him through a non-verbal means of communication.

____The Imperial once known as Morkalus was born in the Ashfall Waste a great many years ago. Raised by parents who considered themselves nobility and eschewed all forms of combat, the young Imperial rebelled against the very lifestyle, preferring to seek glory and renown on the battlefields and arenas rather than the courts. More curiously yet, he studied the combat techniques of the far lighter and more nimble Spiral dragons. He could never hope to match them in speed and agility, but his unusual quickness for a dragon of his size and bulk made him a formidable opponent against enemies who expected the imposing Imperials to be easy targets.
____This method of combat served him well, allowing him to advance through the ranks of the Magma Guard. In time, he might have even become a General had he not met an unexpectedly early demise on the battlefield. |
____Still, Death is hardly a permanent thing on Sornieth.
____In time, something awakened the deceased Imperial; some strange power from beyond was pulling him back to life, and several other Imperials left on the battlefield as well. Calamity might have followed had not the other Imperial corpses been incinerated on the spot with such an intense fire that not even bones were left. ____A further burst of fire incinerated even the ashes, and for a time, the reanimated Imperial drew ragged breaths as the air itself had been consumed by the flames. Shortly however, he recalled that the dead need not breathe and turned to stare at the one who had cast the flames. |
____One might have expected the reanimated dragon to be angry at being dragged back to life as part of an experiment, and one might have expected said dragon to be even more furious to find out that the dragon who had orchestrated his return to the world of the living had been working alongside the dragons responsible for his demise in the first place.

____And yet the Imperial who became known as Adrenurket was strangely accepting of the revelations. His reasons have remained his own every since, though academics whispered that it was due to the altered mental state that seems to afflict every Emperor. Adrenurket is clearly not Morkalus any longer, and when anyone with knowledge of his life asks him of that time, they are at best ignored. ____Ever since his revival, Adrenurket has been Pentarax's "voice" in the group known as The Ringmasters. An elite group of performer-assassins, they are a dangerous force, and Pentarax long sought some way to keep them under his claw. The deadwyrm has proven particularly successful in this regard. He may not be the leader of the group, but his word among them is respected and none dare cross his path or stand against his will when it is asserted. ____Curiously, the nearly acrobatic Imperial has even fit in well with the group, forming an unusual friendship with the Wildclaw known as Anak. They are among the best close-range fighters in the group, and have not yet failed in any mission. |
