Biography
| SIRIUS | [♫] The False Prophet
{ He/Him | Gay } At the close of the Second Age, from the ashes of man, there arose two gods, alike in both form and mind. They sought first the answers of their birth—how they had come to be, and why, and by whom they had been granted life. Then, when knowledge of their birthplace ran dry, they turned their gazes as one to the distant glint of the Observatory, clambered into its body of metal and glass, and experienced the breadth of the universe for the very first time. A thirst to comprehend that which lay beyond themselves was sparked within them, and so they remained. They might remain still, even many eons later… …had the elder not defected. His brother cared only for what He glimpsed through His telescope, and the elder grew lonely. Bitterness took root in his heart. There was no one else in this dead world to love him, but his brother loved the stars alone. Angry at the distance between them, he began to seek power over lesser beings. He collected them like toys; some he twisted with his magic into terrible shapes. Those that did not bow to him were swiftly discarded. When his brother learned of his savagery, He buried him beneath the Observatory and trapped him in a long, pleasant dream. In it, he ruled the land, which would one day come to be known as the Starfall Isles, as a much-beloved deity. All who knew of him adored him, for he was good, and kind, and wise. It would be another age before he woke.

As he slumbered, lost in illusion, the elder's magic cried out—and it was Shard Junior who answered. Believing it to be a Call from Sornieth, which often enlisted the aid of its children in times of great suffering, he climbed to the summit of the Focal Point. Rather than a wound in need of healing, he found the Arcanist awaiting him. “You were fooled,” the Arcanist told him. “Go, before you are lost.” Using Shard Junior as a catalyst, the elder’s magic stirred him from his rest. He rose up through cracks in the rock, gelatinous in form, but every bit as powerful as his sibling. The two brothers clashed once more, warring for control of Shard Junior’s mind and body. Sensing His impending defeat, the Arcanist dragged Shard Junior toward the Observatory gates. If He could not protect His disciple, then He would protect all of Sornieth by sacrificing him. But Shard Junior, in his desperation, pleaded with the elder to save him from exaltation. The elder, at last granted access to Shard Junior’s mind, dismissed his brother and took Shard Junior as a vessel. Now aware of the Arcanist’s betrayal, the elder, the False Prophet, sought to reclaim his throne. So his many eyes fell upon the Chalcedony Seat. It was Jorah who first sensed that something was amiss and went at once to Dreamweaver, while in the north, the False Prophet was confronted by Atsushi. Atsushi was able to subdue him, but not before he had enacted one last cruelty. The Arcanites of Clan Feldspar fell to his might, turning against their clanmates in hatred and violence. With the Arcanist as his guide, Jorah gathered a small team of his unaligned clanmates and made for the Starfall Isles. The Arcanist theorized that He may yet be able to purge the False Prophet from Shard Junior, but only with the magic of those his brother could not control to draw upon. Jorah was accompanied by Atsushi, whose necromantic gifts granted him immunity to the False Prophet’s sway, Holloway, Penumbra, and Abraxas. Together, they met their enemy before the Observatory. They were victorious, and the Arcanist cast His sibling from godhood, reincarnating him in the body of a young mortal Fae. When he next woke, he would recall nothing of his lost divinity, and so the Arcanist tasked Shard Junior with his care. “He will be an empty cup,” He said, “and I ask that you fill him. You understand the value of love, and family, and putting them before your own selfish desires. That is what I once learned. That is what my brother must learn now.” The Fae was named Sirius, after the Arcanist's brightest and most brilliant star. His body is strange, bearing too many limbs and too many eyes, but each day his heart is further filled with love. Though he struggles at times to understand the complexities of dragonkind, he is an unexpectedly gentle boy, longing still for companionship. code by Diamondbacked |
