Biography
Luna: the incomplete circle. distruster of fairies and gods
Luna was found wandering the beach.
It appeared that she had been out there for days when Wave and Hematoma saw her perched on a sand dune. She wasn't a hatchling but wasn't quite breeding age by the look of her, and she didn't respond to any of the languages that Wave knew. She followed them as they went about their business of gathering food and watching for shade infested creatures and later they shared a quiet, but amicable, lunch together.
Well kinda quiet.
Hematoma was all too ready to fill the silence with a tale about the latest and most fascinating thing that had tried to kill him.
Luna seemed to love it.
When they started home that afternoon, they half expected her to follow, but she stopped as soon as they neared a residential area. They pretty much wrote her off as 'cute mute girl' and didn't worry about it. they'd seen stranger things on the arcane beaches.
For weeks afterwards members of Asima's clan spotted her while out and about, always off in her own world, never speaking and always accompanied by at least one luna mith. It soon became clear that she didn't have a clan. Tiny snapper shaped resting spots were found hidden up and down the beach covered in strange runes and surrounded by incomplete circles of mushrooms. the same one was never used twice and when approached they gave off an unsettling feeling. Like walking through the door of a silent, yet occupied, lair of a stranger. Like something was waiting. Thelema found great interest in these areas, and after sketching each one and recording the runes used she sent every last one up in flames.
Luna did not seem to care.
The clan as a whole soon took a liking to her. Hematoma and Thelema would check on her every day, bringing snacks and gossip and stealtily making sure that none of the other clans hassled her for her wandering ways. Charlie popped by every now and then to give her overly friendly recruitment speeches which she mostly ignored, to Charlie's puzzling delight. Wave even started giving her speech lessons until the day he found out that she spoke most of what he was teaching already. When asked why she hadn't said anything in the months they had known her, she just shrugged and looked up at him. Her gaze was steady but slightly off, as if she was looking through him instead of at him.
"It's been a long time since I heard the voices of other dragons," she cocked her head, "I was gone for a long time."
She took a step towards Wave. He unconsciously took a step back.
"Your voice is pretty."
Wave went home that night slightly unsettled.
Charlie's efforts to make her a clanmember doubled.
Despite her resistance to Charlie's wiles, she wandered closer and closer to their lair over the following months. She became a pretty much constant companion to anyone with outside business and served as a semi-nightguard. After a while Asima, out of concern for her well-being out in the weirdness of the arcane lands and Thelema's interest in her magical ability, decided to make her an official clanmember and put her protection on her. Luna was pleased, and Thelema soon trained her to be an assistant teacher of Ritual Basics.
She still won't actually enter the lair . She prefers to wander outside with her miths and the occasional dryad. No one knows what she does during storms but she always shows up afterwards dry and warm. The rest of the clan is content with this as long as she's safe.
Charlie still tries to lure her inside for tea every now and again.
She says it's important to be friendly
