Personality: Higgins does like fire, but the combination of that and his hot-headed personality is purely coincidental. He is notoriously easy to provoke, although he rarely forms grudges because of how petty his cues tend to be. There are some things that can keep him calm, but such things are few and far between, such as a succulent grub or a nice warm fire. Higgins takes his work very seriously but is prone to slacking off, thanks to Doolittle irritating him to the point that occasionally his motivation just flatlines. Generally, he is annoying at worst and fairly decent at best.

Relationship Status: Single but appears to have slight feelings for Warren.

Familiar: Pickering the Triple-Sight Firebug. Higgins met this familiar while residing in the Ashfall Waste, and he has followed him around ever since. The Fae mainly uses him as a light source when the latter is working at night, although Pickering does have some sentimental value to him, as the Fae can sometimes be heard trying to converse with the insect. It would be unsurprising if Higgins trusted his familiar above all else, as he and Pickering are virtually inseparable.

Reputation: Higgins generally keeps to himself, with few exceptions, so the Clan has a mainly neutral perception of him. He is regarded as slightly eccentric but generally harmless by his Clanmates, just as long as he does not get too intrusive when it comes ti his data-collecting. His "test subject", Doolittle, argues with him often and often uses her size to intimidate the Fae, although the two seem to maintain a tense father-daughter relationship at worst. He also has found a friend in Warren, whom he developed a crush on after a bit; Higgins is unsure on whether he should act on his feelings for her, though, and generally keeps to the wayside at the moment.

Backstory: Born in the Viridian Labyrinth, Higgins never expressed interest in the Gladekeeper from a young age. Instead, he longed to serve the Flamecaller, whom he had seen as more interesting than the Behemoth of the Labyrinth. This, in turn, led him to be cast off from the region by his parents when he came of age. While such exile was inconvenient since he had no opportunity to pack anything before leaving, Higgins was eager to start a new life in a different part of Sornieth. The first region he settled in was the Ashfall Waste, which had intrigued the Fae since he was a young hatchling. He spent several years serving the Flamecaller, only to find out that fighting for his chosen deity was exhausting and, perhaps, boring. Higgins then abandoned the life of a soldier in favor of a more intellectual lifestyle; his interest in linguistics came around after struggling to understand and be understood by his fellow comrades, and a growing desire to find a way to bridge that language gap. To start off his studies, he "adopted" a Skydancer whom he found wandering the region; she, whom he found out to be named Doolittle, had little experience with draconian languages, and so she was a prime subject for him. Teaching words to her was difficult, but eventually Doolittle gained enough knowledge to have a normal conversation with Higgins (which normally ended into a bickering session). Higgins wanted to stay in the Ashfall Waste, but Doolittle's complaints ended up making them travel around for a bit before settling at the Scarred Wasteland. Granted, Higgins still feels uncomfortable about living in the Plaguebringer's domain, but at least Doolittle has one less thing to complain about now.
