Freshwater enjoys giving advice to anyone who needs it, although that's a thin veiled excuse to listen to everyone's problems. He now wears a full fortune teller's ensemble, hoping it'll make him look wiser and more trustworthy but only the hatchlings have fallen for it.

During Joelle's first meeting with him, she said that he should join the Academy and perhaps learn some real magic. Embarrassed, he refused but he still wonders if he should have agreed and what would have come of it.

Although he would never admit it, Ephesus is his favorite son. He's taught him nearly everything about to "read" the future that dragons want to hear. This inlcudes a surpising amount of how to read body langue of all species, and how to manipulate them. Freshwater only finds it slightly disappointing that Ephesus has decided to use this skill for clan politics. Oh well, at least he still has Pearl to spend the days with.
