Professor Tonbay is an alchemic genius and lightning researcher that comes to the Shifting Expanse to study electrical technology. After spending countless years documenting her research into a series of journals, she became one of Sornieth's leading experts on the inner workings of the Stormcatcher's machinery. Through her years of studying both alchemy and lightning machinery, she found an affinity for adventure and exploration.

Tonbay has had her fair share of trials and tribulations; she's worn prosthetics powered by lightning tech since her several alchemical accidents (though she calls them "the learning curve"). Though she is disabled, she doesn't let it weigh her down in the least. She is extremely resilient and stubborn, as her friends and colleagues can attest to.

Though generally softspoken and quiet, Tonbay has a fire within her that shines brightly whenever she talks about her work. She lights up like a firework whenever someone asks her about new alchemic recipes or electrical engineering. She is a very logical and mathematical dragon, though she also displays creativity in the form of... incredibly "unique" (as her friends would call it) sculptures.

Growing up, Tonbay was obsessed with research and learning as much as she could about anything and everything. She did not see a need for having friends until she met Sidonis. The pair have gone on many, many adventures together, including a dangerous journey up the Tempest Spire.

Always ready for adventure, Tonbay is regularly asked to accompany research teams on dangerous excursions throughout Sornieth.
