Born in the darkest part of the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, Ngea was given the power to talk to the roaming shadows on the walls. They told him secrets, truths, and occasionally lies that kept him running circles around the clan to avoid them. After months of this torment, he finally packed up and left. He had to get out of there..

In his fleeting attempt to leave his birth clan as fast as possible, Ngea wound up tangled in an unnaturally high bramble bush. Fighting through it, he tore the skin of his wing to the point he wasn't sure if it was wing or fabric scraps. So on foot he trekked..

What woke him up wasn't the unusually bright sun, or the grass tickling his nose, but a frog. A small Desert rain frog was perched on his left paw. They looked at each other for a moment and the frog let out a very loud croak, startling Ngea. His yelp alerted a small, very bright Pearlcatcher who ran over to him. "Cal! There you are!" She picked up the frog and set "Cal" on the bridge of her nose before turning to Ngea. "Sorry about him, he likes to explore. I'm... Radical..." the pearlcatcher trailed off when she saw his shredded wing. "You're hurt.." Suddenly self-conscious, he tucked his wings against his side. "Come with me.."
