Conductor

You'll hear Conductor long before you see him coming- his sharp whistles carry and echo through the canyons of the Shifting Expanse. Quick of mind and quick on his feet, Conductor conducts conduction business for his clan; that is, he's the highest-ranked engineer. The youngest member of the clan's leading council, his electrifying personality is enough to inspire even the laziest dragon to action, at least for a little while. He can be very impatient with dragons who aren't working to their potential, and he tends to look down on those who don't want to contribute. He and his fellow engineers live in a small cluster of caves on the edge of clan territory closest to the Lightning Farm, and while each of them technically has their own space, it's not unusual to see them sleeping in a pile or spending all their downtime with each other. Conductor jokes about a theory that it's the static electricity pulling them together.

The clan's official work assignment is a rather nice golem workshop. The work entails building, powering, and programming animalistic golems to do all sorts of dull tasks, as well as provide companionship. Conductor sees his job as overseeing the work that goes on; he doesn't do much of the actual building himself. However, he's enormously fond of taking energy collection shifts to harness raw electrical energy that can be used to charge the magical batteries that power the golems. It's not unusual for him to take double shifts, or to see one of his friends literally dragging him home because he's tried to take a triple.
