History
The important thing to remember about Gatecrasher is that he was a fighter long before he came to this clan. He was the forerunner in his old clan, and practically their leader. Then he was sold like he meant nothing. He was accepted well enough into his new clan, especially by Lanya, but he just wasn't the same after that experience.
He was originally a emerald/black Mirror, but in order to help him forget as much about his former clan as possible the magically gifted dragons in the clan tried to help him change his appearance much as possible. By some random bit of chance they manage to convince Stormcatcher that one of his most loyal charges was suffering and needed help. He immediately told them to get back to work, as was his usual response to any kind of plea for help. They did, and they managed to find a spell that changed a dragon into a coatl. They also found a spell that changed a dragon's colors. It was expensive and dangerous, but he agreed to take the risk. He didn't come back from that spell entirely unscathed and has since been unreliable on the field of battle. Lanya asked him to retire to the position of a "consultant", as he can't be trusted to train young dragons anymore.

He is only allowed to occasionally fight with Grimraven nearby, as Grim seems to be the only one who can help him keep it together mentally. Despite his illness, his record on the battlefield and continued vigor allows him to garner plenty of respect from his fellow clanmates. He lives a pleasant life with Gatekeeper and their occasional nest of hatchilngs.
