Biography

Ridley is the fraternal twin to Tsarflex and his complete opposite in every way. An Ent comprised of Indian Dark Blue Water Lilies, Ridley is striking in his appearance.

More laid back and cautious than his sibling, Ridley also despises Lycus, but understands his actions and appreciates his control over the Labyrinthe.

He's also interested in Mink, but is quite romantic in his approaches of the Dryad.

Written by the wonderful Xayxayx

Ridley stared intently at a single orchid, repositioning it in the sunlight at least twenty more times before finally stepping back and letting out a sigh. He had been cultivating the plant from a seed for an entire year now, and finally, it had produced a single, exquisite flower. The orchid was emerald green at its center and turned to a deep, liquid gold on the edges of its delicate petals. It’s beauty and rarity reminded Ridley of the dragon that he was planning to offer the orchid to, the dragon he had known was worth a year of diligent work the first time he met her, the most beautiful dragon in all of Sornieth: Mink.

Ridley’s face flushed just thinking about the stunning female. He never seemed to be able to speak his true feelings when they were face to face, so it was Ridley’s hope that somehow his orchid would be able to convey all of the adoration and respect he felt for Mink. And now was the time to give it to her. With a final glance at his flower of love, Ridley turned away and rushed through the Labyrinthe, searching for Mink. He found her tucked away in a corner of the Living Quarantine, crafting a delicate flower crown for Vieta. Mink was so engrossed in her work that when Ridley called out to her, her entire body jolted in surprise. As soon as she recognized Ridley making his way towards her, she blushed, tilting her head down shyly and darting her eyes around her in search of somewhere she could hide. Mink was intelligent but also incredibly shy: she knew why Ridley was here, and the thought made her wish she could descend into the earth beneath her feet rather than face the hopeful, romantic drake coming towards her.

Ridley felt his heart beat faster as he approached and politely requested that Mink follow him. Looking as if she’d rather eat her own familiar, Mink gave a tiny nod and followed Ridley without a word. She was no stranger to his romantic gestures, and she knew she was in for yet another. But then Ridley stopped in front of her, and stepped aside, and there, glowing in a single beam of sunlight was the most beautiful plant Mink had ever seen. An orchid so rare that dragons would kill for a single seed and so beautiful it was said to be fit only for queens. Mink was certainly no queen, but here it was, the perfect flower, and Ridley had grown it just for her.

Mink’s thoughts raced wildly. How did he get the seed? How did he know this was her favorite flower in the entire world? Why did he think she deserved something so magnificent? Well, she knew the answer to that last question…

Mink continued to stare at the flower in awe for several minutes, simply taking in its beauty and splendor. She finally tore her gaze away from her gift when she felt Ridley’s eyes glued to her face. She turned to him in confusion, only to realize that he was waiting for her reaction. He had waited an entire year for her reaction. A large tear rolled down Mink’s face, even as she beamed with the biggest smile she was capable of. No one had ever done something so nice for her. Ever.

Initially alarmed by his love’s tears, Ridley leaned closer and pressed his shoulder against Mink’s in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. Then he saw the radiant smile on her face, and Ridley felt a sense of pride and achievement greater than any he had ever known. He felt as if his heart would burst with joy. He watched contentedly as Mink turned her attention back to his gift and studied it lovingly. She hesitated for a moment, and then, ever so slightly, leaned her body back against his.
