We do what we must because we can.

Neptune was originally a scientist from the Tangled Woods, known for his innovative and ingenious experiments. He was well-respected and beloved in his clan for all his inventions that benefited his clan.

However, as time passed, Neptune's desire for knowledge grew. His experiments began to take a darker turn, becoming more and more unethical and dangerous. He worked harder and harder to keep his work a secret, knowing they wouldn't understand his quest for power.

But one day, he was exposed. He was performing an experiment on the edges of the lair, and the clan leader's daughter became curious and came close to see what he was doing.

His study went wrong at that exact moment, and there was an explosion. The daughter died, and the secrets of his work had been revealed to the rest of the clan.

He was exiled, ordered to leave the Tangled Woods and never come back.

But as he flew over Soreinth, he noticed something. There was a shift of movement near the edges of the Abiding Boneyard, and he went closer to examine it. He quickly realized it was a baby Pearlcatcher. There was no sign of her parents or any nearby clan, and in a moment of impulse, he tucked her under his wings and took off again.

He raised her, and was pleased to find that she had incredible potential for magic. He named her Salem, and decided to train her in the same vein of him.

When Salem was still a baby, they eventually reached the Starfall Isles.
