______ Immediately friends with Hwajae, no one can really figure out why she isn't growing either. Despite this, she was taken in by Yong and the rest of the clan after being told her pearl wasn't actually hers, but her father's. In a sudden attack, her parents had no choice but to hide her and try to fight. Naturally, they were outnumbered and quickly killed. Hayoon's pearl was crushed beneath their feet, but her father's pearl was hidden from view and safe. Once it was clear, Hayoon took the pearl and fled, fearing for her life but also fearing becoming outcast by her own family for losing her pearl.

______ Since coming, Hayoon has kept mostly to herself. She refuses to even let go of her father's pearl, causing some of the hatchlings to tease her. Hwajae, whose size surprised her after telling her he was nearly a month old at the time, was the first to befriend her and help her feel more at home. When she first came to the clan. since they had just had hatchlings of their own, she stayed with Geumseong and Yeongmun, and they were the ones to actually give her the name "Hayoon," as the trauma caused her to forget her original name.
