Echo

Echo's talons clattered on the cold smooth stone floor below her as she stepped into the cave. The cave was quite small, with a small hole in the roof allowing a small ray of moonlight to filter in. The cave was cold and made Echo feel more at home and safe then she had ever felt. Usually, in the warm embrace of her old cavern, Echo felt trapped and displeased. However, here, she felt completely safe. She had ran away as soon as he had disappeared, as he was the only place she would feel at home with. Eventually, she spotted a stone slab by one of the walls of the cave she decided she could rest at. Once she sat down, she gently lifted a small pouch from her cloak. She slowly lifted out the stone many had called blue lace agate. She felt the smooth cold stone in her palm, rubbing it and flipping it over. The lace agate had always made Echo have the ability to think and calmly respond to her issues. When Echo came back from her head, she saw the moonlight dancing across the room. In confusion she put the stone down, and she saw the rays of moonlight move. The moonlight was coming from her stone. Echo looked up at the beautiful moonlight filtering around the cavern, dancing like little shooting stars. Echo was completely entranced by the beauty of the dancing rays until, they froze on a figure standing in the doorway.
" Midnight. " Echo said, realizing what the stone had to tell her. This moment was far more beautiful than the light show itself, it was, well, the most important moment of Echo's life.
