After his birth, unlike his other siblings, this male's dull colors convinced his mother that he must be killed. In her old clan, any offspring born with dull colors were thought to hold a dark entity and if it was not released, the demon would bring misfortune to the clan. So on that same night, his mother snuck him deep into her old territory, to drown him in one of the large lakes.
After tossing the newborn in he sank to the bottom. She was overjoyed but unannounced to her, Midnightrein had followed.
Appalled that she had killed his firstborn, attacked her from behind.
During the battle, a local Kelpie pulled the young dragon from their lake's depths and placed him on the shore. The mother caught sight of the hatchling, struck out to kill him with her own claws only to be delt a dealt a deadly blow from her ex mate. Allowing her to take her son's place in the lake.

Holding The hatchling tight, MidnightRein would return to the clan to tell their tale to Mikasa. Midnightrein would raise the four hatchlings to be strong dragons. However, because it is customary for the mother to name the hatchling, only a mother, educating figure, or accepted parental figure may give a dragon a name. Due to the drakes trust issues, hatred of his father, and his mother's refusal, he remains nameless.

As a hatchling, his father drilled into his kid's heads that they were to be the best at everything that mattered to his image. Looks, athletics, attitude, political status, how they carried them selfs, and how they were above everyone else. MidnightRein and his hatchlings were known as the dragons to be with. However, the nameless drake was not like any of the others. he was the 'ugly paddyfowl' if you will. His father despised him for his lack of 'perfection'. he shunned his son allowing him to be picked on by other hatchlings and his own siblings. From this treatment, this nameless drake became engrossed with books. At first, it was anything he could get his claws on, and then after Geratine let him borrow from his collection, he became fascinated with magic and creatures of the arcane. He began to explore caves and forests and would read into every scroll he could find. Eventually, his curiosity would lead him back to the very lake he was once almost murdered in.
Upon his arrival, he observed that all along the top of the water were white and yellow lily flowers. Brushing a claw against them, they would hiss and attempt to pull him in the water. He brushed up against many more ensnaring him. But before being pulled in, a local kelpie appeared from the depths and ripped the flowers from their roots. All turned a deep blood red. The nameless drake would later come to learn that this was the same kelpie that saved him all those years ago and now he comes to visit this spot often. To help clear the harmful flowers that appeared on the day of his birth and spend time with his new friend.
