______ A renegade from the Starfall Isles, Issy ran afoul of an unfriendly band of Beastfolk on her pilgrimage to serve the Windsinger, and instead found herself washing up on the shores of the Ashfall Waste. Too weak to travel again, with lungs injured by the seawater and a wing torn by Serthis spears, Issy found herself with little recourse but to seek whatever shelter and kindness could be found in the Emberglow.

______ Clan Ventariin cannot afford the luxury of inactivity, so Issy mostly earns her keep by scavenging at the edges of magma vents and pools. The hot air and her injured lungs have left her with a rasping voice, and her wing makes flying for long periods challenging. But she is light on her feet, and quicker than most imagine. With an abiding hatred for most Beastfolk, that has her serving half as a scout, too, and running back to the clan home with warnings at the first signs of encroachment.
