Biography
|
DRESSLER is only marginally bigger than a rambra, with about as much bulk as a newborn fawn and a certain youthfulness to her appearance which makes others tend either to dote on her as if she's a child or else not take her very seriously. It's the latter types that are usually surprised to see her weilding the tool of her trade as if it weren't no thing: a chainsaw, which is roughly the same size as her, and which has a snarl loud enough to very nearly be heard the next territory over. Dressler calls the chainsaw Widowmaker, simply because she finds the name melodramatic and therefore funny. Dressler uses the chainsaw primarily for clearing out megamycelial networks creeping into tamed land: encroaching on the Gold Dust Table, or making trouble for the rambra in the fields, or trying to strangle the apple trees of the Orchard. According to Dressler, megamycelia only really understand brute force, which the endlessly racing teeth of Widowmaker are able to provide in ample supply. When not hired to help farmers and ranchers, Dressler can be found out in the open somewhere, chainsawing chunks of wood bigger than she is into looming, often upsetting figures which she then tends to just leave lying around out in the wilderness. Despite the fright her figures give folks stumbling across them unawares, she doesn't leave them for malicious reasons -- rather, she just gets bored or preoccupied with the next big idea and just plain forgets about the last thing. | xxxxxxxxxx |
IMPRESSIONS
A little too keen-eyed with the saw in her hands; easier to talk to without it. She has a strange daintiness about her when in motion or in repose, but which is quickly lost when at work. The Ruins aren't quite worked out of her accent yet, and her voice is clear and sharp when displaying her seemingly inexhaustible repertoire of working songs.

RELATIONSHIPS
BEAUCERON is one of Dressler's regular clients. Indeed, some strains of megamycelia manage to clamber all the way up the Gold Dust Table and make a play for the amaranth fields, especially in the fallow season, when they seem to think no one will notice. Beau cuts Dressler a pretty good deal on amaranth grain, so Dressler is happy to offer her services at a discounted rate.VELTUNE does most of the heavy work around the Orchard herself, but occasionally some jobs are too much even for her -- plus, it's clear she delights in watching Dressler chainsaw through dead limbs and invading root networks. Maybe a little too much. |
