Winter

They said winter is the end of a year. It was the time when the forest is in silence, where all the callings were buried underneath the snow. Weeds were dead. Flowers were withered. Animals were sleeping. And dragons gathered inside, whispered around the fire.

There was only one exception in the forest, the trees. When everything was waiting for the upcoming spring to bring the liveliness back to the earth again, the evergreens stood there, labelling the ground as its identity: 'forest'. They were green yesterday, the day before, and the day after tomorrow. They were evergreens, the creatures who stretch their branches out to greedily possess the limited sunshine given by the mother of Light.

And that's Winter, the Hunter of Forest Evergreen, an eagle with wooden beaks. Please, worries no more. She hunts no one nor a single beast. She protects no one nor a baby teen. She was never a part of the community. No one owns her loyalty but someone secret from far far away.

She's her pet.

She's her dog.

She's her messenger.
