Biography

Thunder
Role: Co-Founder/Head of Military

Personality
Despite being one of the founders of the Tempest Clan, Thunder believes that she would not be a good choice for leading the clan with Silver, her mate. She is, instead, the leader of the clan’s military, having found her passion for battling monsters. She is the mother of Storm and Donnell and brings the former to the Coliseum almost every day to train her, along with her mate, Silver. She is quite assertive (and sometimes rather aggressive), but cares about her family and friends very much. The tail clasp on her tail is from Silver, and she wears it at all times.
Thunder is very passionate about battling, going to the Coliseum every single day and wanting her daughter to grow up to be a powerful dragon. She is very affectionate towards her mate, Silver, and her children. She is also great friends with her Electric Nymph familiar, Volt.
She is an amiable dragon and loves making friends, and she was the one who started the tradition of adopting unwanted dragons. Thunder’s persistence and assertiveness are also one of her strong points, but she is also rather stubborn, refusing to consider any other viewpoints. This leads to arguments between her and her fellow clanmates, but they always forgive each other by the end of the day.
She misses her parents very much and wishes that she can return to her old home someday. Due to this, she treasures her name very much, given that it is the last thing she has from her parents.

Lore
“It is time. You have reached adulthood. Now you must leave.”
“But I… I don’t want to leave…”
“You must. This is your fate.”
A tear rolled down the goldenrod coloured dragon’s cheek as she looked up at her mother, the one she admired so much. No matter what, she knew, she had to leave her clan.
It was time to start the search.
“Bye, Mum! Bye, Dad! Bye, everyone!” she cried as she flew off into the distance, holding back tears threatening to come out.
“Bye, Thunder!” was the response.
That was the last she would see of her parents and friends. And the only thing they had left her was her name.
Thunder, echoed her heart. Thunder.

~~~
She flapped her golden wings as she descended onto the arid plains of the Highland Scrub. She had travelled far and wide, from the Nature-filled Viridian Labyrinth in the north to the freezing Southern Icefield, the land of the Ice Dragons. Now she had returned to her homeland, just for a little while. She needed to rest, to soothe her aching golden wings.
Thunder drank water from a cactus and lay sprawled like a Bogsneak on the hot sandy ground, her wings lying limp beside her. Slowly, she closed her teal eyes, curled up on the sand and slept for the day.
~~~

She woke up in the middle of the night. Yawning, she stood up on all four legs, stretching her sore back. She spread her powerful clawed wings and turned around, ready to launch herself into the sky.
That was when she saw him.
His body was a greyish beige, and sharp chocolate brown spines ran down his back, the same colour as his magnificent curved horns. His eyes were a bright teal blue, the same colour as hers. His claws were sharp as a blade and his legs were strong and sturdy as boulders. His wings extended towards the sky, curved obsidian coloured claws on its tips. The magnificent purple of his wings contrasted with his grey body. He had just touched down, and seemed to be drawn to her. He gazed at her with a wondrous look, his cerulean eyes shining with passion.
It was love at first sight.
Cheesy? They didn’t care. They only knew, at that exact moment, that she was his, and he was hers. It was meant to be. It felt right.
But what about their charges? Thunder thought. Then, she realized, there was no need for that.
They were each other’s charges.

Two weeks later...

"Silver!" a guardian yelled, gesturing to her partner. "They're hatching!!"
The beige-grey Guardian sprinted over, his dark violet wings beating frantically. "What? Show me!"
"Look!" exclaimed Thunder, pointing a claw at one of the three eggs in the nest surrounded by wires and electrical components. "A crack appeared!"
Silver watched the light teal eggs, eyes filled with excitement. "I can't wait to see what they look like," he murmured. Thunder smiled, and wrapped a wing around her mate.
"Me too."
Then there was a cracking sound. Lines appeared on the egg, and grew longer with each passing second. Thunder’s heart pumped so hard she could hear it. She tightened her grip around Silver’s waist.
“Haha! Thunder, you’re squishing me!” joked Silver, patting her back with a magenta wing. Thunder giggled and let go of her partner, then stared intensely back at the 3 eggs. The eggs shook, and an expectant smile appeared on Thunder’s face.
Now Silver was the one squishing her. She glanced at him, and he was staring so intensely at the eggs that she thought his eyes were about to shoot beams of light.
“Nervous?” she asked quietly. Silver nodded. “First time.”
“Me too.”
Then one egg split in half. The goldenrod Guardian’s eyes widened as a tiny head poked out of the eggshell, peering curiously at its parents. It was a girl, and its head was the colour of gold. She stumbled out of the broken eggshell, fumbling towards the two adult Guardians. Her wings were flapping wildly about, a brilliant shade of purple not unlike her father’s. Thunder felt like she wanted to scream in delight. “She’s so cute!!” she squealed. Silver nodded, a wide smile on his beige face. “There are still two more,” he reminded his mate.
The second split with a loud crack. An ivory-coloured dragon with lime coloured wings tried climbing out of the rocking bottom half of the eggshell, but the shell tilted and it fell over. A boy, Thunder identified. It faceplanted on the ground and got up with a dazed look. Thunder smiled and gave it a piece of clover. The hatchling ate it up gratefully. Thunder held more clover out in her paw for her babies.
Then the third egg, a female, hatched. The hatchling inside had a goldenrod body, same as her mother, while her wings were a dark shade of grey. She wasted no time in getting out, then waddled over to Thunder’s open palm. She jostled with the other hatchlings for the food for a while, using her wings to block them from getting to the clover, then seemed to spot something in the corner of the lair. The hatchling stumbled towards her chosen destination, nearly falling every few steps. Where was she going? Thunder wondered. Then she realized.
The hatchling was heading towards the food pile.
Thunder looked, amazed, at the hatchling who had found her mini-hoard. The hatchling opened its mouth wide and munched on a piece of Panther Anole meat.
“She’s a fighter,” Silver whispered. Thunder, speechless, could only nod.
“What are you gonna name them?” asked the new father.
Thunder considered the question for a moment. “I’m naming that one Donnell,” she announced, gesturing to the ivory and lime hatchling at her palm. Then she pointed to the first hatchling. “That one’s going to be Lilac.”
“And the last one?”
Thunder smiled. “She’s a fighter. Like her father.”
“And her mother,” Silver added.
Thunder felt a tear well up in her eye.
“So what’re you gonna name her?”
“She’s gonna be as dangerous as a tornado, as unpredictable as a bolt of lightning, as powerful as a storm,” Thunder said, the tear running down her cheek as she spoke the words.
“So I’m going to name her Storm.”
