Biography
"I am a paladin, like my mother before me."
Alberich, unlike his younger siblings, is a wholehearted believer in Zan's dedication to truth, justice, righteousness, defending the weak and helping the helpless, all that. Which is why it's so galling to him that he's doing so badly protecting his charges in the Kelp Beds, that he could never seem to find his charge, that he was stuck guarding the vault (NOT his charge) instead of charging off to do heroic deeds...
After many, many years of fruitlessly insisting that he just knew his charge was somewhere in the Viridian Labyrinth, really, he was sure of it, and never actually finding his charge... he finally literally tripped over it. A mysterious, and curiously lifelike, though badly cracked, blue crystalline statue.
He soon summoned the whole family to help him transport it back to the main clan building, an operation that nearly gave him multiple heart attacks, and now he's totally abandoned his work guarding the vault (Hubert has that under control, anyway) to keep hatchlings from climbing on "the ice sculpture," as everyone calls it. His protectiveness doesn't extend to shooing away the curious mages studying it, though.
The statue is definitely enchanted. It might not exactly be a statue. Pergamum and Winterspring haven't mentioned that part to him, because they're not sure of their conclusions and they don't know how he'd react. But there's definitely something up with it.
He's an abject failure as a Meditate Monk (or rather, I'm an abject failure at that build.) Zan has barred him from venturing onto the field until she gives him the okay.
After raising his first hatchlings (with the lovely, though sadly still cursed, Skif) and bringing one daughter back home to the clan, and after completing a rigorous course of study on the proper use of the Anticipate skill, Alberich has finally made his triumphant return to the battlefield, guiding trainees, including several fledgling Night Warriors, through the Ghostlight Ruins.
