Irkal, the far-seeing
Dragon sharing: familiar matching

Irkal was born to dragons of the zirClan -- dragons bound to protect the clan's lands, granted food and shelter but no influence or power. Even as a hatchling she seemed strange, clearly magical. As she came of age she began to have visions and studied with the clan mages not of the zirClan, including Anaxander and Helex. With time and study she sharpened her visions. Eventually she pacted with her familiar, a Slight Eyewing, and began in turn to become like it -- dark, unblinking eyes opening up on her own wings.

A dragon with such an ability was clearly too valuable to the clan to be kept in the zirClan. Irkal now uses her magic to watch for anything that might interest -- or threaten -- the clan. When the clan foragers take to the battlegrounds, or the zirClan skimishes with beastclans or bandits, Irkal watches. And no ruin or rare artifact can be discovered by some rival clan without Irkal knowing.

She seems content to watch and wait and report, though in private, Anaxander and Helex wonder if Irkal truly reports all she sees -- or if there might be things she holds back...
