Cassiel was hatched into the Lightning Flight city of Dune, late Queen Ophelia’s homeland. Descending from a long line of royal guards, Cassiel was raised from birth to protect a royal dragon with his life. He was a young whelp when Badar’s egg was laid. As one of the most promising young guards in Dune it was decided that Cassiel would be charged with the hatchling’s lifelong protection, and as such his bond with Badar was formed.

When Badar had hatched, Cassiel followed him and Queen Ophelia to New Provenance, leaving his family and life behind. This was difficult at first for Cassiel, but he quickly took to New Provenance and would not trade his life there for anything else. Ophelia was always kind to Cassiel, and raised him alongside her new son as her own. He grew into an older brother relationship with Badar and the two became very close - even closer than Badar’s biological brothers.

With the untimely passing and banishment of all of Badar’s family members, Cassiel has become extra vigilant and protective over Badar. He is a fierce fighter and warrior, and would stop at nothing to serve and ensure the safety of his King. Badar trusts no one more than he does Cassiel. The two are an unbreakable pair, and lean heavily on one another in such troubling and dark times.

Sorrel is as rowdy and hotheaded as her owner. They make a great team. She loves to spar with Badar's Qin, take long naps in the sun, and run through the plains in the farmlands.
