Hatchling Caretaker

Soren is the Clan's hatchling caretaker.

Not many hatchlings born to the dragons of the Clan actually stay in the Clan. For those handful of dragons, Soren is their caretaker. He also serves as the "orientation leader" for dragons new to the clan coming in as adults.

Outwardly, he is the peak of responsibility. He has a spotless record in the dragons he has raised. He is dutiful, and a wonderful father figure to the hatchlings. He takes genuine pride in them.

He runs into trouble with Janus, though. He hates Janus. So much so that he would up and leave, starting a riot in his wake no doubt, and never turn back.

He would leave this pack in ruin, were it not for Selene. She captivated him, and he secretly harbored a love for her that was strong enough to empower him to endure anything. She led their pack and needed someone like her to lead by her side, he understood that. But she was also the most intelligent and beautiful creature he had ever seen, and deserved so much more than Janus could offer her.

She was a fearless leader, yes, but she was also a dragon like the rest of them. She aches for the touch of a loved one just as he does. He knew in his heart that his destiny was to be by her side. He knew that he should be the one helping her leave a legacy in Sornieth. Their hatchlings would be smart and brave, and raised by him so impeccably that they would surely all make names for themselves. But he knew to break their marriage was to dash any chance he had with her.

He would be everything she needed from Janus and more, from afar.
