I made dis

A breath of something sweet wafted up into the hole in the ceiling, and I could tell that it wasn't from anyone munching on some candy or whatnot. I turned from my desk and looked to the hole, and found a very empty Main Cavern. A bit odd, seeing as it was noon and most dragons were up and about at this time of day. I poked my head through the opening and saw that most of the others were all hiding in their rooms, peeking out only for a second before spotting something I did not see and scurrying back.

Turning, I saw a dragon sitting on the small, grassy ledge just outside the Main Caverns mouth. He was mostly a dull white, but oddly placed dots were scattered around his body, shining. It was about five minutes before I realized that the voice in the back of my head was screaming at me. I ducked back into my office, and Katerína's words rang like a bell. According to them, I was staring, and that they had been yelling at me to get inside almost immediately after I spotted the mirror dragon.

"Spoil sport," I muttered. I realized quickly that this dragon must have some sort of spell cast upon him, And I resolved to listen for anything instead of watching. This was a dangerous dragon indeed.

It has been approximately two months since I first woke up, along with a couple dozen of my brothers. I bit back my anxiety as I landed on a small grassy platform on one of the many Crystalspine mountains. The crescent shaped plateau made the talon shaped mountain appear like someone took a fourth out of it. I slumped onto a particularly soft patch of grass and sighed, trying to get my confused mind to rest.

All I got in return were more questions that I answered as fast as I could.

"Why am I here?"

"I am are here because I am meant to be here."

"Where am I from?"

"I am from a place long gone."

"What is this place?"

"A home for me to brighten."

"When did I forget everything?"

"Why would I want to remember?"

"Was there ever anything to remember?"

"Perhaps. But it is nothing worth fretting over."

"How did I become this?"

"I am unique. Out of all of my unfortunate brothers, they chose me."

"Who am I?"

"I am Rainbowbrite, and I am perfect. Don't let anyone say otherwise."

My voice changed from panicked to soothing over and over as I internally battled my own worries, and I drifted into a sleep-like state.

I woke up to the sound of waves crashing far below me and low muttering behind me. I jumped to my feet, and found a handful of dragons peering at me. they seemed spooked, but otherwise happy to see me. Everyone looked happy to see me, however, so I wasn't comforted by their smiles. I saw a couple of families lingering in the otherwise mixed crowd, and I could tell that they were, for the most part, unrelated to everyone else.

A pair of eyes shone from a small window several meters above the ground, but the ducked out of view right as a yellow fae stepped forward.

"Hello!" She chirped in a remarkably normal sounding voice. The usual Fae monotones lingered, but her voice was, for the most part, fairly animated. She smiled again, but the usual sickly sweet undertones was nowhere to be found. Perhaps I wasn't changing her views on me? that would be a nice change of pace. "Hello!" I parroted, and quite a few people who clearly were normally disagreeable smiled slightly.

"What brings you here?" She questioned. I didn't really have an answer, so I shrugged. As i was doing so, i spotted the rest of the clan lingering in the cave they lived in, looking uncertain. It was the first time I had met a clan who generally weren't affected by my, ehm, talent.

Normally, when I meet someone, they become annoyingly happy and giddy, eager to stay in my presence. It creeps me out, honestly, so I never stay in one place long. For the first time in who knows how long, however, I was met with genuine kindness.
