THE GREAT KING | THOUSAND HAIL LORD | VERMIN JADE CROWN

DDThe name of The Great King Norve is not one you hear often anymore. Seemingly a legend, The Great King is believed to have long passed, with all His roots tore from the ground after the War of The Red Jade. Before His unknown demise though, He was often held in high regard. Once a ceremonial flail, religious dragons of the Scarred Wasteland worshipped His form, until pure exposure to the Plaguebringer and devote loyalty manifested His draconic form.

DDWhile a being of filth, He was a being of of love. For the first five thousand years of His life, He was dedicated to the Plaguebringer, a religious leader in Her name. But, one day, He suddenly took a vicious turn-- claiming that the reign of the Grand Deities must come to an end. How can these Deities claim to want their Flights to prosper, if they only dove head first into needless war? How can they claim to love their Children, if they discarded them, hid them, or stood by as they perished? The once soft spoken flail swore His revenge, taking the title of The Great King, and promised those wronged by the Deities that they would see the end of this flawed Godhood.

dddFORGING OF THE VIRULENT FLAIL |xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
dddTHIRD AGE, PLAGUEBRINGER'S HAIL
d DDAs the Plaguebringer established Her realm, thousands upon thousands of weapons were made. From Cleavers that could tear miles deep valleys into the soil, to simple poisons that more often caused discomfort than death, the beginnings of the Scarred Wasteland had these weapons scattered everywhere. She was a careless God at first, much more concerned with besting Her sister than caring for the land She claimed.

DDOne of those weapons made was the Red Jade Flail, a pitiful thing that had been half buried in dense muck. It was Her first attempt at combining the powers of a crude weapon and deadly poison, and it was a little too successful despite the horrid condition. The metal frame was unsightly, warped and rusted nearly to disrepair. The red jade that made up it's thorns was chipped and barely recognizable as anything more than cracked crystal. The flesh that held it all together could barely sustain the weight. The Plaguebringer had thought this broken weapon to be perfect to withstand an experimental toxin.

DDUpon mixing the newly made sludge into the Flails censer, the flesh began to leak the vicious poison.

DDThe Plaguebringer brought this weapon with Her to the river border of the Tangled Wood and Viridian Labyrinth. With the intentions of diving headfirst to the growing Behemoth, She bared this Flail with a single, grand swing across the approaching, alerted army of Nature. The waters were split with an ugly red-- the earth torn to shreds as lives were claimed by the scattering roots. If it weren't the land that took them, or the piercing wind, or the rushing water-- it was the rotting air. She ran through this massacre with little care, as a being immune to the chaos She wrought, She didn't realize what was wrong until it was too late. Where was Her Abberations? Where was Her commanders, Her poor excuses of medics? No one was answering her. Halfway through the Viridian to the Behemoth, The Plaguebringer had exterminated every living being in a brash display of recklessness. Even Her own children.

DDThe Gladekeeper was quick to hear about what was happening on Her border. In a blind fury, the Sisters quickly clashed-- the Red Jade Flail thrown to the side to sink into the green earth as its poisons continued to pollute the air. The Twins were mourning as they locked horns-- both had lost more dragons than they ever had before, and reality was beginning to set in.

DDBut, it wasn't just these sisters that were affected. The ever elusive Shadowbinder began to sense the annoying itch of poison in Her thorns-- seeping into the bark of Her trees through the water. A screeching howl would pull the sisters apart, to see their Elder approaching-- looking more disgruntled than angry. She pulled the Red Jade Flail from the growing crater, letting out a wispy hiss, "Enough of this . . . Seal the weapon, and return to your land."

DDWith the God of Shadows being Her only way out after this disaster, the Plaguebringer did as told. Returning to Her home wasn't easy though. Not a single survivor followed Her, only a weapon most thought would fall apart in hand. How could She explain such a tragedy, when what was promised was victory? But, She didn't have to say a thing to the followers that gathered at Her feet. The Red Jade Flail was stored within what would become the Hellwell Undercroft, its poison removed and flesh stilled. In its solitude, the Red Jade Flail wouldn't see the light of day for one hundred years.
