The Many Eyed Prince
Aoygn means "eyes" in Yiddish
Some call me a mutant, a freak, wrong. But isn't mutation the driving force of life?
Aoygn lived with his father Esteldin and his mother Filla for a large portion of his life. Even though his siblings would leave to find new lairs to live in or deities to serve, his mother kept him close in fear that he would face nothing but rejection, and a desire to protect him.
He doesn't spend much time with his father, Esteldin, because of his duties of clan leader. When he does, he sometimes gets the sense that his father doesn't know what to say. He's afraid that his father is ashamed of him, and so he started to wear clothing that gently covered his eyes more often.
His parents both see his eyes as something awful that must be compensated for, but the way he experiences the world is greatly affected, and perhaps even enhanced by his multi-gaze. He is aware of everything and everyone around him at all times. It is beautiful and overwhelming.
Aoygn desperately wanted to live somewhere quieter, and somewhere he felt more accepted. Where he wouldn't feel like he had to cover his eyes. Eventually he was able to convince his mother to let him go live with her old friend Spritz in the Marsh.
He has started to train with Spritz in the ways of magic and herbalism. He is fascinated by how much variety there is in the natural world. One day, a marsh frog appeared in the garden. This new froggy friend would follow Aoygn everywhere, even going so far as to hop onto his head. He eventually just accepted it, and now the frog rides with him most places.
Though he cannot fight, because he must be careful to protect his many delicate eyes, he is enraptured by those who do. Xyla is a dear friend of his, and he admires her greatly. His feeling for her run deeply, and the possibility of a blossoming romance is in the air.
