Member of the Umbral Priesthood by sheer technicality alone, Ask is the sole dragon in charge of the funerals of Clan Umbra's denizens. Acting as both mortician and funeral director, they have a great deal of work on their plate.

Funerals in Clan Umbra are often planned well in advance, even when dragons are fairly young. Between territory disputes, the Serthis, and the curse, life is not a guarantee in their neck of the Tangled Wood. The Imperials in particular are ever grateful for Ask's work; together, they have all plotted specific burial locations as far from each other as possible, in remote corners of the world, in order to ensure that they do not become a part of the Emperor, or form a new one.

Despite their rather grim line of work, Ask puts on a rather jovial front. Their humor is sharp, dark, and scathing - others either love their wit or hate it. They collect all sorts of bones, taxidermy, and occult texts and artifacts. Many dragons are unsettled by Ask, yet can't help but be charmed by them. Beneath their witty and charismatic facade is an anxious and depressed dragon - who is terrified of death just as much as they are fascinated by it. Ask works around death effortlessly, but is deeply unsettled in the face of their mortality. Between this, and the dangers of simply living where Clan Umbra does, Ask has become somewhat of a recluse, and rarely ventures outside the lair.
