Biography

Wavebringer > Unnamed > Brea > Conundrum > Erroneous > Willow > Naomi

Lore Idea: Kareivis Archer (a Kareivis is a warrior of the Armas Svela, the Army of Souls, which is Naomi's band of dragons fighting to avenge the exalted.)

Wavebringer wasn’t special. Not really, not in the ways that counted. He was, for the most part, just like any other dragon. He had eyes on his head and wings on his back, scales on his body and blood in his veins. But his blood contained something else. Something that, if you looked far back enough, was indeed very special.

Wavebringer was a Naomi descendant.

Meaning that his great-great-great-great grandma was Willow- and his great -great -great -great -great grandma was the one and only Naomi. And that he, as a sixth generation Naomi descendant, was given the choice to join the Armas Svela. The words were pretty much lost in translation. But dragons everywhere knew the Armas as the Army of Souls. Perhaps this wasn’t completely true. It could’ve been a wild guess, or an inaccurate translation- but the Armas Svela had gained a reputation. So the ‘Army of Souls’ it was.

Wavebringer was proud to be an archer. Each of his fellow karaviri had a job, a purpose, that they didn’t have before joining the Armas. They were, as the name suggested, wandering souls. But now they had a function; a goal. To avenge the exalted. Dragons that were sent off to war. Unwanted daughters, disfigured hatchlings- Most of them were dead. Of course they were; They couldn’t stand a chance against the Beastclans with little to no training. Being exalted brought ‘honor’ to the family. Honor and gold. It made Wavebringer quake with anger just thinking about it. He turned to the kareivis next to him. “Who’s next?” Amphitrite sighed. “You know you’re not supposed to talk to me. Fifth generations want nothing to do with sixth generations like you.” “And archers want nothing to do with painters,” Wavebringer said haughtily, “but here we are. I think that makes things even.” Letting out another hefty sigh, Amphitrite handed over a piece of parchment. “Just promise me you’ll have some respect from now on.”

Wavebringer unfolded the square of paper and studied the list. Arietis, Quagmire, Gaheris, Nimue. All siblings of Amphitrite- He looked up at her. She didn’t make eye contact. Wavebringer shrugged and returned his gaze to the paper. -and Carribean. All will be avenged if we can recruit karaviri. This lair contains many descendants, including, but not limited to: Wisp, Cosmos, Lazuli, Ashen, and Brea- the mother of Carribean, Amphitrite, and the exalted (see above). “Mother would never join,” Amphitrite scoffed, leaning over Wavebringer to glare at the paper. “And if she finds out I’m in this with Carribean- well, she thought that he was dead all this time, and that I had run away to spite her. To mock her loss, or whatever. I was never a favorite child; Brea looked down on art and painting.” Amphitrite frowned. “Just like you. Keep the paper, I’m returning to my own lair in a few weeks.” Karaviri often took breaks between soldiering, to visit home or simply for a change of scene. There was an organized system so that the Armas was never short on dragons.

“Listen, everybody,” Conundrum hissed, hovering over a slab of stone. “I know you Ice dragons aren’t used to the Light territory. Stop groaning about it.” The leader’s wings seemed to flicker every few minutes, like she was just a mirage, or the flame on a candle. “We have plans. Refer to your parchment. Tonight we take a Water clan by storm!” This was met by cheers and applause. The karaviri began to chant. “Oh, shut it, all of you!” Conundrum barked. The noise ceased immediately. “When the sun sets we fly west. Darkness and the element of surprise are our weapons! We’ll attempt to be peaceful, but we may have to go in by force. Our goal is to recruit a kareivis. That means no blood tonight.” This was met by a chorus of disappointing grunts and ‘boo’s. “I make the decisions,” Conundrum growled. “And you all follow my lead. As I was saying, we want to get some karaviri. Particularly, Brea.” Wavebringer looked at Amphitrite, who was cringing. Conundrum continued. “I need you all to be quiet until we get on the move. Can we do that?” “YES MA’AM!” the soldiers shouted. The leader rolled her eyes. “That sounds like the opposite of quiet to me,” she muttered. Then she retreated to her tent to count the supplies and weapons.

Wavebringer sat, content and happy, even with the constant idea of murder looming ahead. This was where he belonged. He was proud, so proud, to be a kareivis.

Author’s Note

While all of the characters mentioned are real dragons in Flight Rising, the ancestor that they all share, according to speculation, could very well be a glitch. Naomi was a user that took over the Couriers of Flight Rising. For a period of time the user, when searched, was shown to have over 15 million dragons, with the number steadily growing. When exalted dragons were searched, all of them were labeled to be in Naomi’s clan. However, clicking on Naomi’s username would bring you to a 404 Error page. Despite all of this, it is said that Naomi couldn’t have been just an account created to hold exalted dragons. The reason for this is simple: Willow.

Willow is one of Naomi’s children with Coal, who is also an exalted dragon. Coal’s ID is 25343. The number before that, 25342 is presumed to be Naomi. When you search for the dragon, you will be brought to another 404 page. But when you input the ID in the Scrying Workshop, the dragon that comes up is the one and only Naomi. Says a tumblr user (that I won’t name), “Willow is our proof that Naomi isn’t a storage account. She was someone, and Naomi and Coal are probably her progens. She bred her dragons and sold one of them. She even changed flights at some point, seeing as Naomi and Coal are Arcane and she is currently listed as Shadow. Which means 1 of 3 things. 1: Staff stole an inactive account and used it to store all exalted dragons and it’s somehow become unhidden, simultaneously taking over the account that handle the couriers. 2. This is the work of a hacker. 3. Someone is very upset at being exalted.” Later in the year, Naomi disappeared. All the exalted dragons were given the correct labels and all returned to normal. For a while the Naomi dragon’s profile was still a 404 page, but now you can find Naomi, Willow, and their descendants on the Flight Rising website.
