Cynfor

For all my life, you've always been there, ever since I was born into this world. You were there when I was alone; you were there when I was with friends. You were there when I was happy and there again when I was sad. I considered you my best friend. When I was at my lowest, you proposed to help. That was the first time you took over the control. What happened afterwards wasn't very clear to me, and the only clear recollection after I took over again was the surrounding wreckage and the fears in others eyes. Ever since then you tried to take over every time I was low or down, and every time I had to pushed you back down. I pushed you back once, twice, thrice, but you were always there, waiting for an opportunity, waiting for me to slip. It became harder and harder for me to take back control...

When I said it pained me to have to do this, I really meant it. But I can no longer risk everything and everyone around. I have responsibilities now. This, will be the last time I need to push you away. And this time, I'm pushing you 'in' instead of 'down'...

Cyndor used all his will and all his magic, and pushed his darker self into the magical mirror. Then he shattered it!

"Goodbye, ME, my friend..."

That night, he was truly alone for the first time in his life. And he truly felt loneliness for the first time in his life. It engulfed him.

The next day he woke up. He looked at the shattered mirror shards on the floor. Before he knew what he was doing he already gathered up all the shards and began piecing them back together. He glued the mosaic of the mirror onto the wall besides his bed. He then looked into the mirror, and a shattered self looked back at him, with anger and rage. He saw the shattered image of himself moved his lips to say something but no sound came out.

Cyndor cried.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry.... my friend...." Cyndor sobbed and whispered to the mirror, to his enraged reflection, "I'm so sorry I shouldn't push you away. I should've let you stay... Please... forgive me... and don't leave me alone.... alone...... please....."

His reflection just stared back at him, without any expression, apart from the flame in his eyes.
