______ Since the earliest recorded days of Dragonkind, among the denizens of The Scarred Wasteland it has been prophesied that the inhabitants of the world will meet their end in a tumult of pestilence and death. It is written that eight plagues will ultimately wipe out most of the population, as the Plaguebringer unleashes her final creation upon the lands. Hatchlings will appear at the beginning of the end who have clustered eyes, one for each virulent strain of destruction to come.

______ As Azrael shook off the last remnants of his clinging eggshell, the shards sliding from his head to reveal the shocking sight beneath, his father turned pale and his mother wept. Knowing their son would most likely be set upon and killed by the other members of their clan, they sent him away for his own safety - to the depths of the Spiral Keep, where the acolytes of Tidelord keep watch over him. After all, they say, prophecy can neither be avoided nor denied: what will be, will be, and may Tidelord return to save us all.
