Clan Treasurer, and Mate to Eggplant

Rusalki was having a hard enough time keeping the clan's hoard full of treasure as it was, with almost every dragon asking for this and that, but having to up and move everything was even more difficult. Expensive too. She had to hire a rather large band of imps (Luckily, they were relatives of her squire, Shii, but they still wanted payment, of course) to transfer sacks of treasure, trinkets, and raw goods (which wasn't alot after the amount of treasure the clan shelled out to accommodate the new nobleblood whom insisted on only the most exotic of oils to shine their scales twice daily) over the deep wetlands that divided the Tangled Wood and the Viridian Labyrinth. It was bad enough that the stress caused her to molt early and that the wetlands were chock full of mosquitoes this time of the year. Thankfully, her mate put together a pouch of herbs to chew for when it became too much. The smell of feverfew alleviating the headache that was a constant pain between her eyes.

After everything, Rusalki wasn't quite sure how she felt about being back in the Tangled Wood, but after seeing the forest slowly light up around dusk, nostalgia got the best of her and she finally could breathe easy for what seemed like ages. It was a couple of slow and painfully tense weeks before the clan was back to its usual swing of things. Couples started to nest again, albeit tentatively. Rusalki's workload only seemed to grow heavier and her lists of finances were longer.
