A clan's plea is a powerful thing. When the volcanic cave made a massive new vent inside the nursery - swallowing up five hope filled nests - the wails of fathers, mothers, family, and friends filled the territory and well beyond. The cry echoed in caverns, across cliffs, crept into crevice, and so became a part of the land.

Rocks rarely regard the striving of dragons. But these rocks regretted their hasty ventings to dragons known for their love and loyalty to the deity that gave them life and power. So the rocks made use of a little known gift: the records of every footstep and mark of beast and plant are not only told inside their surface, but becomes a part of them outside of time. To the creatures living on or inside, it the talent seems to be time travel.

They reached back to that day, and moved a little to a left. The bedding chambers of nursery workers became the vent instead, and the nursery rematerialized, eggs and all, as before. Clan members found they lost days (for time travel only goes so far in space), and all shared a vague notion that Flameforger blessed them, and a undeniable draw to the eggs. They all were all sure they were meant to be special somehow.

In this way the clan was introduced to dragons of stronger elemental powers.

In this way, the first egg fall into and become a part of the volcanic mountain retained his colors of the mountain. His blood runs hot, his wings seem to ripple like molten rock, the runes running along his body sparkle like precious stones, and his eyes flare with flame. Most startling of all, he hatched a guardian in a territory that hadn't seen guardians or visitors in months. But none questioned that he belonged. Without true memories, they knew he was the witness of the volcano itself.
