Biography
Born and raised in a family loyal to The Archanist, Nigel displayed magical talent at a young age. With the benefit of the finest teachers his natural abilities blossomed, and he was soon practicing magic well ahead of his peers. He had no interest in combat magic however, focusing instead on new and unexplored areas of magic. While Nigel has great power, he does not have great common sense. He successfully turned himself into a DreamEater for a day and a half, half a day longer than he had planned. While he has regained his shape, he is still the same color as his DreamEater, and his wings were gone. He immediately set to work creating a device that generates a pink magical field to serve him as wings. Nigel’s DreamEater has been magically enhanced so that it is now more like a butler than a pet. It isn’t capable of speech, but it is still better at taking care of Neigel than he is at taking care of himself.
As Nigel grew older he ran into academic jealousy. Not that he had any idea what was going on mind you, he just had fewer and fewer friends, and then his remaining friends suggested he go investigate a section of the Verdant Labyrinth where dragons had been known to disappear. A section controlled by a particularly war like guardian dragon named Arkar. Oblivious as usual, Nigel took their advice.
The dragons of Arkar’s lair were bemused to see Nigel wander into their midst. Aside from being strange looking he also talked funny, and treated them like ignorant savages. The local dragons found this hilarious, since Nigel appeared almost entirely incapable of taking care of himself. Rather than exalt him the dragons decided to make him welcome, because frankly, he was to funny to loose. He’s gotten a fez from somewhere, and since he doesn’t have a wife, he’ll likely get to keep it.
