Gears has been around for... quiet awhile actually. This is because when he was born, he was born with the rare gift of magic. As the years went, on, his bones began to creak. Fearing his end, he decided to transfer his soul in a robotic dragon. With a combination of his magic and soul, he was able to make the robotic dragon to seem realistic. No one knows the truth of his strange anatomy. No one but one mechanic dragon and a cranky business owner. He usually stays in the heat mainly because the cold causes his gears to stiffen and freeze up. This is unfortunate because his mechanic, Skinner, usually stays in the cold.
 
He works for Scroll as another delivery person and mainly sticks to the deserts and areas with high heat. Scroll was hesitant of taking in a golem like creature he didn't create, but relented. Gears was able to gain the trust of Scroll after many years of working together with no issue.
