Silvia, first and foremost, is a nihilist. Not in the conventional sense, of course - she's content with her life and logging all the information she gathers, while also believing that it's not going to matter when everything is said and done. The difference is her belief that while life has no meaning, value, or purpose it can be forced to have one of those values if one has the willpower to make it so. Because of this belief she can be a bit of a depressing presence, taking oncoming existential crises as lightly as someone would react to a stray speck of dust.
