Biography
Strike, Grand Inventor and Blessed of the Storm.
Strike was the first born with the primal call of the StormCatcher within him. He has been the pride of the Empire from a very young age and has earned most of that pride himself. He created things, invented wonders, excelled in his studies, and has been taken under the wing of Mercury to one day become part of the council.
The only thing he lacks is physical prowess, which Mercury has begun to work on. He has been sorted into an elite team to train alongside two quick and fierce sisters. Irsolth and Sokelth are only an season older than him, but are years his superior in the field of battle. They rival even the prowess of Mercury, Lock and Exousia.
Strike has been training alongside them for seasons now and has started down the path of becoming a true leader, but, in the midst of his training, Strike found love in the form of the Guardian Dragon Tria. His training become less and less intense as he made more time for her and his passion for knowledge and perfection wavered. They spent a year together and a clutch of eggs graced their second year together.
Mercury had been disappointed in the path that Strike was taking but when she saw the sheer joy he gained from being a father, her heart melted and she let him stop his training for an interminante amount of time.
Life settled into a steady rythmn of joy and peace, for a few years at least, until Strike noticed some strange behaviour from his mate. Trips out of the den in the middle of the night, loving comments falling on seemingly deaf ears, and finally a violent outburst that left one of their hatchlings incapacitated. Strike was beyond shocked, and followed his mate out one night. He watched her fall into the embrace of another. The embrace of his brother. Smite.
Strike sulked back to their den and sent their hatchlings with a messanger to Mercury's lair. To keep them safe. When Tria returned, she returned to a cold, empty den, and an angry Pearlcatcher. They fought, with words at first and then with tooth and claw. Strike's training came back to him, filtered through the savage veil of rage. He escaped their den, not wanting to harm the one he still loved, and went instead to find his brother. He beat Smite to the brink of his life before leaving him in the dirt and taking the long trek to his mentors lair.
Mercury was deeply moved by her pupils tale of woe and made room in her den for him and his brood. He raised his hatchlings into dragons with her help and saw two of them into the ranks of the Stormcatcher. The third stays in the Empire, watching over her father and persuing her own interests.
Strike threw himself into his studies, training harder than he ever had before and gracing the Empire with a new era of technology. He may look content with his life again, but there is a pain in his heart that will never be healed. He has vowed to never love another, so long as he lives.
