Snowsquall

The night was dark, and Snowsquall sat on a small log, gently poking a small fire. The sand under his feet glittered, for he was on the edge of the Starward Strand. Snowsquall was just beginning his journey, hoping to find his place as an ice priest, or at the very least, an Ice promoter. Snowsquall stared longingly at the ocean, across from which sat The Southern Icefield. He had managed to strike a deal with an actual Ice Priest: if he could convert one hundred dragons to revere the Icewarden, the Ice Priest would take him under his guidance. So this was why Snowsquall was so far from home, and would only have to go farther. Already he missed the icy snow and frigid slopes, the beautiful Crystalline icicles, and frosty tundra. Snowsquall sighed, and went to sleep, dreaming of his home.

Snowsquall didn't have high hopes for the arcanites, as they were often too distracted to listen to him. Always talking about the stars and the sky in general. Very curious though, which could be an advantage to him. The next morning at sunrise he set off, walking along the Starwood Strand and flying from cave to cave in the Crystalspine reaches.

"Hello, I am Snowsquall from The Southern Icefield, and I'm here to tell you about my lord, the Icewarden." he said, smiling. The dragons looked at each other and then back to him.

"What can you tell us, that we don't already know?" asked a cocky blue Pearlcatcher. He was wearing a silk robe and had gold threads tied in his mane.

"Shh, let him talk," countered a dark skydancer.

"Well, the Icewarden is the very best diety, and we all should follow him. He has stayed out of conflict and takes great care of all of his subjects." explained Snowsquall, "I would be delighted to tell you more, especially if you would pledge to follow the Icewarden, and leave behind your old flight forever."

Again, the dragons looked uncertain. Out of the crowd stepped another Fae. She was incredibly beautiful, and was shrouded in silk and pearls, "I think I speak for all of us, when I say that we are all content with our lives as followers of the Arcanist. As kind as your offer is, I- nor will any of my clan mates convert to the Ice flight."

The words hit Snowsquall like a boulder. This was going to be harder than he had imagined. He wished the dragons a good day, and flew off to try again. Snowsquall was beginning to feel hopeless, although he tried to remember his cause. The Icewarden is counting on me! he thought as he flew, over the reaches and to a new land.
