Oath and his adopted brother, Elegy, were dropped off within the territory of the Clan of Black Ink by an anonymous group. Assumed to be a pair of abandoned children, the two were raised together as a closely-woven pair. Though their differing elements and personalities, the two are as close as true siblings.

Oath spends most of his time within his studies and potions. He does not consider himself a healer, but Oath can create remarkable healing potions with the bare minimum. One of his personal mottoes, "medicine is just as important as magic," inspired many other dragons among the clan to study in potion alchemy as well. Many ask him to be their mentor, but he humbly refuses, believing he doesn't quite have anything to share that hasn't already been written on parchment.
