Biography
Plan:
did he hear rumors of how the carnival can take away unwanted memories, and go there despite the triggering environment?
did he lose some of his memories, but not what he wanted to? did Jasper fall for him and sneak him out before he could be drained for all he was? is that how the two of them got together, and ended up with the library? Jasper still receiving orders from Sylvester, guiding him to the library without Cyrus knowing?
from joint mass hatch 12.6.18
hatched by Cataclasm, bought for 225kt
Cyrus was a foundling to a traveling theatre troupe. He learned to slip into roles as easily as costumes. His innate magical talent soon manifested, and he channeled it into an art form of his own making, flying dazzling shows of coloured flame. The older he got, the greater the furnace inside him grew. He told himself it was just a sign of growing excellence - as the young prodigy had soon become the central act of his entire troupe - but he could feel it churning inside him, getting harder and harder to control.
One show, when he pushed himself too far in an attempt to impress - perhaps his found family, a prestigious guest, or a dragon he was smitten with - he lost control. And the fire surged from him.
Terrified, the whole faireground ablaze around him, he sought the eyes of his troupe, his family, for advice; a sign of what he should do now. But they were backing away from him in horror.
And so he flew. Away. As fast and far as he could, trying to forget the screams and the smouldering stage he left behind. The garlands aflame. The tents turned to pyres.
Forbidding himself from performing again, he fell into poverty, unable to support himself. When kindly clans offered him shelter, he accepted only the most urgently necessary provisions, then moved on; not daring to stay in any place for too long, lest it burn around him too. When someone tried to insist he stay, he used the authoritative roles he knew from plays like a shield; channeling their voice and presence to repel them, lest they burn around him too.
An indeterminate amount of time passed.
He strayed into the Sunbeam Ruins. And got lost. The heat couldn't harm him, but he was parched within hours.
A scout found him and brought him to the lair, where, after some water and a few hours of recovery, his attemps at dissuading assistance were seen through and Epoch revealed to him that this was precisely where dragons with this kind of problem could stay. Where they could learn.
