Lailyn has always been a teller of tall-tales. Everything becomes an outlandish legend when told from her - from a hatchling going on a mighty and terrifying adventure to win the lofty prize of a cookie from the jar, to the harrowing ballad of Echidna's valiant fray with a terrible slavering sparrowmouse servant of the dark lord Eurion. Naturally, she fits right in with those of the hull, who mostly laugh and only sometimes groan at the especially unbelievable details.

Of particular interest in its gemstone form, chrysoberyl is one of the Ashfall Waste's biggest export materials. Large and consistent quantities of this mineral are created by the constant expansion of the Blacksand Annex.

When she first saw the great ship resting in the murky ground of the Tangled Wood, Lailyn recalled one of her little stories, about great ships sailing through black mists, carrying souls as their precious cargo. Though she tells tales far more often than Nephtys does, her story-making skills are quite yet honed to perfection, and so in a bid to learn a more productive outlet for her imagination, she assists the serpent-spiral with bookbinding and recordkeeping, learning all the while.

Lailyn's favorite hobby is collecting items that look as if they might have been part of a truly fantastic story - blessed weapons, and ancient crowns, and magical jewels. She's amassed quite a sizeable hoard of these trinkets, and she's scribbled a story to go with every one! Although that only means that as her tale-telling talent grows, she's forever proofreading and copyediting and reformatting and spellchecking and... but even though she's often beseeching Yzmah for clawache curatives, she certainly can't claim she isn't having fun!
