Mehrab came to the Clan of the Outcast because of its ley line. He used to live in a Water clan, where he served as a conduit to the Tidelord, but found himself at a bit of a loss when the god's words stopped coming to him. He heard rumors from other seers of a clan that had been built on a ley line, that was dealing with incredible shifts in power, and set out to see what he could see in such a place. The matriarch Amalthea, happy to have access to another seer, gladly made room for him. It was an interesting project for Kira, the clan's architect, to create a den for Mehrab which had easy access to water. This is why his room is adjacent to the clan's public baths. It's a high-traffic area, but he likes the bustle. Now, visitors to Mehrab's den will find it partially filled with water, and the Spiral will often be mostly or completely submerged within it. Up high on the walls are items that aren't water-resistant: books, spare clothes, and the like. Many of the clan's dragons visit to get glimpses of their future, or advice on large decisions. Mehrab helps happily, though his messages can be cryptic. Still, he is easier to access than Myriad, and many dragons believe that his fortunes are more accurate because of his birth in the Water domain. Amalthea seeks the advice of them both, and has mentioned before that their prophecies rarely differ. Whatever magic allows these glimpses of the future, both dragons seem attuned to it. In fact, many see Mehrab throwing his loyalty behind Glory a sign of things to come, though when questioned about his reasoning, the Spiral remains silent. |
