Ra often makes secret expeditions to the Hewn City, sometimes with Ignis. They started as trips over the boarder to visit Light territory, where both himself and Ignis are originally from, to reminisce and spend some time out of the murky darkness of the swamp where the clan now makes its home. However, their flight path into Light territory often took them over the Hewn City, and over time Ra found himself unable to resist exploring the strange place. As time went on he became more and more obsessed with discovering the secrets of the place and ferreting out the monsters that live in its shadows. Ignisferae has been less corrupted by the place and worries greatly about the effect that it has on her mate, but finding herself unable to pull him away from its siren call, she continues to travel into the depths of the city in an attempt to keep him safe, even as she sees the ways both herself and her mate are being changed by the City's continued influence....
