Nick

Nick remembers the awful day of his hatching so vividly it hurt to try to go back and remember the exact moment it happened. He remembered the dragons gasping in fear and saying that something horrible had happened to him. He remembered his parents throwing him out and giving him nothing, nothing at all. He remembered how lonely and lost he felt, how he wanted to rip all his eyes out, how he wanted his parents and family back more than anything. Nick struggled to grip onto the good thoughts, it was hard considering he was now forced to live alone and fend for himself. He started to train himself to no longer feel anything at all, and to let the sad and upsetting thoughts go. One day while flying through the night sky, he stumbled upon what he thought to be was a mountain high in the sky. Sure enough, he was right. He flew right into the Gale Rain and noticed many dragons were taken by surprise. Nick remembered the kings walking up to him and asking him what he was doing here. Nick swore he was just flying through, and explained quickly that he was a loner. Nick was sure that the kings had taken pity on him and decided he should be left to live here.

At first, many dragons were mortified by the sight of Nick and the horror of him having multiple eyes. Nick was self conscious and wanted to make sure dragons didn’t find him dangerous, or cursed. He loved his new home and he wanted to prove this was where he belonged, the last place he wanted to be was back on regular land hunting and fending for himself. Nick helped with different tasks, and sometimes offered a helping claw to Jonas, the advisor for the kings. He then started to gain the respect of the dragons around him, and Nick was more than happy. Finally, he had found a home for himself, however he still had one thing he wanted answered? He wanted more than anything to know who his parents were, and find out why dragons were born with multiple eyes. Perhaps he had a greater destiny ahead for him? Nick was determined to find out one day, but for now he’ll enjoy his home here in the Gale Rain, surrounded by dragons who truly cared for him.
