Biography
Ameria is a veteran who fought in the Grand War. During her childhood as she developed her magic skills, Ameria's parents were impressed with her intelligence and advance spellcasting. Wanting their dear daughter to succeed with such a gift in magic, they sent Ameria off to a magic school far away from the Starfall Isles so she could continue to learn about her element and expand her range in magic skills. The school Ameria attended was full of other ambitious Pearlcatchers, but Ameria didn't feel like she fit in. She felt under pressure to make her parents proud and conversation with her fellow classmates didn't interest her. She just quietly studied her spellbooks and obeyed her mentors. Nobody heard much from Ameria or even see her pop her head out from her books until one day, she heard some commotion coming from the schoolyard...
There was only one Shadow dragon in the entire class. Ameria didn't mind her, but she never took the time to speak to her. However, that didn't stop her from seeing the errors of the situation that took place in the schoolyard that day. A group of highly vulgar Light dragons were harassing the solo Shadow dragon, calling her names and generally causing misfortune. Ameria felt like if she didn't step in to help the poor creature, nobody else would. The first words she spoke to any classmates during her whole time at the school were "Hey! Leave her alone!" Being that this was the first time anyone had really heard Ameria speak, other than answering a question in class, the group of brats stopped to stare at Ameria.
"Hey!" One of the boorish children squawked. "When did the book-sniffing nitwit start to say anything besides answering questions like the teacher's pet?" Ameria tried not to let the bratty commentary get to her and aimed for settling the situation in a civil manner. She tried to talk some sense into the egotistical Light youngling, but as the Shadow dragon tried to speak up for herself as well, she was rudely interrupted by the ruthless bully.
"Hey!!" The bully squawked again as they struck the Shadow classmate across the face with her claws. "We're talking here! Don't interrupt, you stupid dark minion!" Ameria tried to stay calm, but that strike was the last straw. She yelled angrily and opened her mouth, blasting out a bolt of Arcane magic, which struck the Light Pearlcatcher with a startling yelp. The other young dragons screamed and scrambled about and Ameria was appalled at herself. What HAPPENED? And what was going to happen to her after committing such an impulsive act?
After the event, Ameria spent her last few days at the school feeling lonlier than ever. The other Pearlcatchers avoided her like the plague and the story that got to the headmasters was that she attacked her classmates, first. They used the scar on the Shadow dragon's face as "proof" of Ameria's attack, even though that scar was from being struck by a bully and NOT Ameria's doing. The headmasters gave Ameria just enough time to pack her things, then they expelled her. Ameria felt ashamed, yet worried if the poor solo Shadow dragon would be able to fend for herself. Regardless, she left the school as commanded to and flew back to where she belonged; The Starfall Isles. Ameria tried to start over with her life, forgetting everything that ever happened at that school, but every waking moment she spent alone was also spent with her thoughts. She struggled to live alone with her thoughts as she grew up. Until one night during her usual stargazing, Ameria spotted a peculiar star making elaborate movements in the sky... except as it drew closer, it wasn't a star at all. It was a Skydancer named Antares.
Antares had been curiously watching Ameria from afar, and although Ameria was less than impressed by Antares' charms, he gradually grew on her and she came to realize that he made her feel much less lonely. Perhaps Antares was Ameria's answer to starting over. She followed Antares to his Arcane home, which was bustling with magic business and the two of them settled there and began to raise a family. Ameria had laid five eggs during her time with Antares, but much to her dismay, Ameria would never see the day her eggs would hatch into five beautiful children. Antares had been absent from the clan for the past week and Ameria saw no harm in leaving her nest unattended for just a short while to see if she could find her dearest. That turned out to be a grave mistake, for during Ameria's search for Antares, her home clan fell under a devastating attack. Any dragon who couldn't fight abandoned their homes and Ameria's eggs were smashed. When Ameria returned to the devastation, still finding no sign of Antares, she thought to herself "Why? Why here? Why now? Why ME?"
With no business left to attend to in her now ruined clan, Ameria set out to find answers to all her questions. As she traveled and searched, she caught wind of a great war raging on between multiple clans. Her clan was mistaken for another Arcane clan that was heavily involved in the fierce battle. She remembered that poor Shadow dragon who had been bullied years ago in that magic school. Even with all the years that had passed, it pained Ameria knowing that she couldn't go back and help her. She wanted to make up for it and set out to align with the Arcane clan that was intended to be attacked by elemental assassins. Her next destination was the clan Sokuna.
When Ameria found Sokuna's location and pledged to help fight against their enemies using her abundant magic, she met Captain Siorus. Siorus was a relatively quiet Wildclaw, but was fierce in battle, never holding back against anything. He had come from a clan named Sarisha, which was located in the Tangled Wood. Sokuna and Sarisha had been fighting together as allies and Ameria wanted to meet said allies. When Siorus announced that he was going to visit his home clan, Ameria wished to join him. They took off in flight together and landed in the large forest which was shrouded in darkness, and soon, Ameria was able to meet her allies face to face. She met their leader, Jemisha, who was a kind Shadow Tundra. Something about her colors were familiar to Ameria, but she never knew any Tundras. Jemisha, however, seemed to know exactly who Ameria was. She wouldn't stop staring at her with her curious eyes. "Is there something I can help you with?" Ameria asked as the shadowy queen stood from her throne and stepped closer to the Pearlcatcher. Without saying a word, perhaps because she couldn't find the right words to say, the Tundra brushed her fur away from her face and revealed a scar that had been haunting Ameria for so many years.
Jemisha was indeed the poor Shadow youngling from years ago that Ameria couldn't help after being expelled from the magic school. She had changed her physical form into a Tundra after sacrificing her pearl to the Shadowbinder. After reuniting with Jemisha after so many years, fighting in this war had much more meaning to Ameria than ever before. This was a battle of vengeance and a battle against discrimination. Ameria could finally protect Jemisha, along with whole clans on her side. She could get revenge on her eggs that were smashed and finally use her magic to its fullest potential. The war cost her a wing, but ever since the battling has ceased, Ameria stayed in Sokuna and makes trips to Sarisha to visit Jemisha. Seeing peace restored has made the fighting worth it to Ameria.
