Pretty sure the beach at sunset is the best place to be.

Meeting Sunflower.

Spruce walked quietly along the peaceful flowing stream. An array of beautiful flowers grew alongside it, spanning for miles. He took a deep breath as he sat down, taking a quick break. A twinge of guilt started to stir in his mind. He should have been patrolling, yet, there he was, taking a break. He shook his head, standing up, preparing to continue his patrol.

Why was he even bothering? He'd been given this role, and for what? To prove his strengths? It all meant nothing when the clan would barely acknowledge his usefulness. All caught up in their own problems and duties. If someone could at least notice.. But it was as if no one ever did. He felt anger, or perhaps bitterness, but how could he express that? He shook his head once again, as he walked. He could simply not tell anyone. He needed to be strong, to be tough. Indeed; he was. He is. What was this feeling?.. He simply couldn't explain it.

. . .

After some time, he stopped near the clan's border. He squinted as he spotted a female pearlcatcher not far off; but what was she doing? He walked nearer, and looked at what she was doing. It seemed she was tending to a small white bunny. It seemed scared, but she was holding it close and keeping it safe. It snuggled up close to her, and seemed to relax. Spruce was amazed. A dragon, being kind to something that many would see as merely just food, or not worthy of compassion?

The dragon let the bunny climb up onto her back, and she gave a big smile. "There, now don't you feel better? You'll be safe with me, little one. You are just as important as anything else in this world." She nuzzled it's cheek, and the bunny settled on her back. When she went to walk away, though, she spotted Spruce. Spruce froze, had he intruded? He was just simply so taken back, he wasn't aware that perhaps it was a moment not for anyone else to see.

The dragon walked up to him and smiled. "You're Spruce, right?"
Spruce nodded, puffing his chest out. "That's right. And you.." He paused, realizing he did not actually know who this was. He thought for a moment. Perhaps he had caught a glimpse of her at the clan once and a while, but did he really know her?

"I'm Sunflower. You patrol, right?~ Thank you for all your hard work, we wouldn't be safe without you." She said, giving him a bright smile. He seemed captivated, how could he not have met or spoken to this wonderful dragon before?
"I do, that's correct.. Thank you. It's a difficult job, you know, there's always some uncertainty of what might happen... You have to be prepared for everything." He said, proudly.

She listened with curiosity, smiling. Her scarf ruffled in the wind, giving her a goddess type of look; at least, that is what Spruce was thinking about. He faintly blushed, turning his head. "Sunflower.. Will you let me walk you back to the clan? The borders can be so unpredictable. Allow me," He said, gentlemanly.

Sunflower smiled, getting up. "Oh, I would love that, Spruce~"
The two walked back to the clan, and it was obvious - at least to Sunflower - that something else was sure to happen between the two...
