A cursed vampiric. She spent many, many years flitting through the Sunbeam Ruins, feeding off the dragons there. However, she was caught and driven from the lands, and she spent many weeks trying to escape the hunting parties.

Eventually she ended up starving and exhausted in the Starwood Strand, where she was found unconscious by Yuuei and his team. They brought her back, and Nara cut her a deal that Anae could stay in the village as long as she wanted, so long as she swore to never take unwilling blood.

She is very fond of Yuuei, though often baffled by his attempts to court her. She doesn't voice it, but she is afraid that it's only a matter of time before he realizes the type of creature she is and turns on her.

She also likes to play with the hatchlings when she thinks no-one is looking (and the nursery guards have been careful with who they gossip to, since they'd rather encourage this behaviour.) Eventually earned a place as a nesting grounds guard herself, which she fufills with great pride.
