It was an age-old saying, a concept he'd known since he was young. Born to one of the Ice Clans, the Skydancer was as merry and bright as his coloring might suggest, glimmering and always intent on the bright horizon. His curiosity knew no bounds, and while neither did his generosity or kindness, they did not foretell his fate.

Too close, too fast. Icarus, after years of his nose spent in books, scrolls, absorbing languages and concepts at times far beyond what a youngling should have had access to... he flew too close to that sun. The beacon that had called him, that abyss beyond.

His sight was his payment, in part, for his transgressions. A large bear began to appear beside him, speaking softly, guiding him through his folly and aggression. Sunbeam Ursa, she took pity on the male who had tried so hard, yet had been far from prepared for the world he had tried to face.

The Scarred Wastes are not necessarily an ideal habitat for the scholar and seer, but Icarus has long settled amongst a clan there. Found by Riaras, she both was amused he'd managed to survive as long as he had without his sight--and, in her opinion, his mind--and intrigued by the words he conjured from a place she could not glimpse herself.
