Quartz

“I want to make something of myself. I believe it’s called a statue.”

There are dragons who take pride in things like gathering, fighting, and pursuits of the mind. Fortunately, Quartz doesn’t have to reach so far to attain bliss and perfection. Once his reflection was first spotted, this dragon made it his duty to frame his beauty. If he is so happy to have it, he can at least try to spread the joy by framing it for others.

Coming to his new home, he found something he may love greater than accenting himself; helping others do the same. The fact that there are so many beautiful beings who don’t appreciate their own looks he takes as a personal offense. He’d had enough of that from his birth family.


Well, he does have his grandparents and cousins Axius and Zimeya who understand fashion. His grandparents went for a matching theme. It was understated, but he appreciates it nonetheless. Of his cousins, the first he met briefly as a hatchling and was completely dazzled by. The second, well, he's by no means mastered it but at least he understands what it is. More than he can say for the rest of his family.

Even his own children are starting to disappoint. Hopefully it isn’t too late for them, but they’ve already left the nest or distanced themselves. At least he’s learned the hands off approach doesn’t work quite so well, but the next time around he’ll get it right. Until then, he can make the rest of this clan look more flavorful.
