Biography
Optional - Hatchling Lore
Moonlight Shimmer
Kind | Reserved | Mages | Wary
The hatchlings of this pair inherit the magic of stars, though how that magic manifests varies greatly from visionary, to healer, to spatial magics. From their parents the hatchlings seem to learn to be wary of magic and it's risks, though the level of wariness displayed varies greatly.
A certain level of reserve seems to be shared by the hatchlings, and there is a slight suspicion that they have some small ability of foresight. A healer-like kindness also seems to be displayed by the majority of hatchlings, with all being taught at least the basics of healing without magic.
Spatial magic is much more likely to manifest in those born as Skydancers, though it is not particularly common even among them.
The air of the Highland Scrub is always crackling with the leftover electricity that emanates from the Tempest Spire, especially so close to the Thundercrack Carnivale, but today you noticed something different, something foreign in the air. The air was dry like always, the heat rolling off the sandy expanse making everything look warped and shimmering. You see a shape in the sky, but you think nothing of it. It's another trick, an optical illusion created by the heat.
Except, suddenly, you realize it isn't.
Suddenly, a wild unearthly sound pierces through the air. It is loud enough, close enough that you scramble to the very edge of your lair, turning wildly to try and find the source. Then suddenly the speck in the sky that you had so easily dismissed earlier as an illusion turns into a bright pink streak racing across the sky. At first it is a beautiful sight, something strange and awe inspiring.
Then you realize this pink ball of fire is pummeling through the clouds, descending rapidly towards your lair...
CRASH!
You're thrown backwards as you scramble out from the disaster zone too late. The meteor plummets through the air and smashes into the dry, cracked ground of your homeland. The meteor itself is hidden from your view. All you can see are big wafts of pink glittery smoke coming out of the crater in the ground. Having been sent flying in a rather undignified way, you now regain your senses and stalk cautiously towards the pulsing wreckage of the meteorite. It glows with soft colors of magenta, lavender, and tropical pink. Plumes of glittery smoke wafted around it like a protective veil. As you venture into the smoke, you suddenly realize that the meteorite was changing…..
It's a dragon!
The dazed Pearlcatcher slowly unfurls himself from the tight ball he had wound himself into and slowly takes in his surroundings. Finally, his bright magenta eyes land on you. The white dragons looks strangely at you, as if he is confused by your presence. Before you can ask if he's alright, the dragon perks up, his eyes lighting up with recognition.
"I found you!" the Pearlcatcher almost screams. "I was so worried that I was mistaken in my calculations and that I had overshot your lair, but no, no it's definitely you I'm looking for!"
The Pearlcatcher rifles through one of the many pouches handing from his side, shuffling around for a moment before turning back to you with a bright smile. Before you can question it, the Pearlcatcher shoves a bright pink parcel into your arms. You briefly stagger under the weight of it. It weighs so much for such a small thing!
"Congratulations my friend! You've officially been Meteorbombed!" the Pearlcatcher said with a bright grin. "Sorienth wouldn't be the same without the Lightning Flight! This parcel is a gift from the Arcanians to show our appreciation for you! Have a wonderful Carnivale, and hopefully we'll see you soon, yeah?"
Before you can even formulate what the Pearlcatcher said, he's already stretched his wings and launched himself into the air. You can hear him muttering to himself about calculations as he fidgets with the bright glowing pink gadgets strapped to him. Suddenly, with a bright flash, the Pearlcatcher is gone. You're unsure if the Pearlcatcher simply could fly fast, or if he used some strange Arcane magic to teleport. You turn your attention to the parcel. You try to open it carefully, but the second you lift the pink paper, the entire thing bursts open, dropping a bunch of items in your lap!
