(An OC from my in-progress book. Yes, I know she's creepy.)

Remember to call her Jay. She hates being called Jayne, even if that is her real name.
She is cold and a bit cruel, and she almost unconsciously searches for faults in those around her. She has more of a connection to creatures of the paranormal than her own kind, and is scarily detached. Growing up in a war zone didn't help her already ill mind, and in the army she was taught to not care about those around her, cutting though her enemies until she no longer cared what she did.
Despite all this, she has a secret soft side. Whether it's helping someone injured get help, singing a child ghost to sleep so it can pass on, protecting a village from monsters, or her unflinching loyalty to her partner. For all the times she proves she's callous and calculating, she manages to unintentionally prove she'd do anything for those she does care about...even if those same people don't approve of her methods.
